Dad of 4. Doctor. Why I Still Train Every Day.
4:30 AM. The alarm goes off. It’s dark, cold, and there are a hundred reasons to stay in bed. Four of those reasons are sleeping down the hall. But I get up. Every single day. And I train.
The Question Everyone Asks
When people find out I exercise daily while running a medical practice and raising four kids, they always ask: “How do you find the time?” But that’s the wrong question. The right question is: why do I make it non-negotiable?
My Why
I want to play with my grandkids — on the floor, in the yard, without limitation. I want to walk my daughters down the aisle. I want to travel with my wife in our 70s. I want to be truly active at 90 — not just alive.
That’s Not Motivation — That’s Math
Every workout is a deposit in your longevity account. Compound interest applies to your body just like finances. A 30-minute workout done daily for 30 years is over 9,000 hours of movement. That’s the difference between hiking at 80 and using a walker at 80.
Find your why, and the “how” becomes simple — not easy, but simple.
